Mountains and sea and the wild country of eastern Quebec.
This is where Gabriel and Melanie Paquin, along with Sephorah (16), Hadassah (14), Manoah (12), and Hannah (10), are planting a church.
Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is a city in the Gaspésie region of the province of Quebec.
Lying between the Chic-Choc Mountains and the St. Lawrence River, this town is in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada.
As you might imagine, planting a church is taking time and much patience as they make connections and bring people together.
Recognizing that people are a little skeptical about church, they seek to preach the gospel with actions and words.
Wisdom, discernment, and a faithful persistence is necessary as they diligently follow this calling.
God is moving in all sorts of surprising ways.
One is that a small church (maybe 18 people) in another part of Quebec sees what they’re doing and their desire for the Good News of Jesus to be shared with this community.
So this small group of believers is supporting them – through gifts of money, encouragement, letters, phone calls.
This little church is just one of a number of small churches who have been incredibly encouraging to these church planters.
Though small in number, their impact is significant!
Gabriel and Melanie know they have brothers and sisters who are holding them up in prayer and who are willing to practically participate with them (from afar) in this church plant.
Even a handful of people can be involved in the mission of God.
Isn’t this the body of Christ working together for the sake of the Gospel?
