Miracle: Church Interns – Elmvale Community Church

Imagine the gift of a couple young adults who want to spend a gap year serving at a local church.

Yes, you read that right.

It’s kinda a miracle actually.

Last fall, Bekka and Emma – with their German accents and a sense of adventure – flew to Canada and are spending a year in small town church ministry.

They’re in  Elmvale, Ontario where they live with a host family and enjoy the hospitality of the entire church.

Bekka and Emma are part of a life group, take part in regular church life, and enjoy Christian community with their new church family.

They get to experience the best of Canadian life -snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow days (something they always wished for as kids but never experienced!, beaver tails, canoeing and kayaking and more.

Bekka and Emma are here to serve – so they help out with the midweek children’s program, “The Hive”.

They’re some of the youth sponsors for the weekly youth program.

They’re just eager to serve in whatever capacity!

These two women also get the privilege of being mentored by Steve and Charlotte Weenink, pastors at Elmvale Community Church.

They spend alot of time with Steve and Charlotte and get to see Christian ministry up close – the joys and the challenges.

They also get to see a Christian marriage up close and have the chance for deep and meaningful conversation with wise mentors of faith.

It’s a win-win.

It’s a mutual gift.

Bekka and Emma are blessed but so is the church.

Actually, it’s a win-win-win.

Know who else wins? This small town.

Don’t you love the way God’s math works?
