When I asked a church leader from Nova Scotia about one of the unexpected gifts during the past couple of unsettling years, his answer was this:
Holy discontent.
It wasn’t really the answer I was expecting.
But as he explained, it began to make sense.
He called the pandemic a “circuit breaker.”
He said that COVID has been so disruptive that it’s been a good time to think about church, in terms of what does God really desire and what’s the best way to live faithfully in this cultural moment.
There’s a new openness as this group of believers begins to imagine new ways of being the body of Christ.
May this holy discontent lead to more imaginative and fitting missional ideas!
Perhaps God is doing something.
