Johnny Gordon is getting married.
As his wedding day approaches, he can’t help but give thanks to God for the gift that his fiance is.
It was a friendship that grew into romantic love and then covenantal love.
Johnny met Melissa at Redeemer University.
It wasn’t love at first sight.
In fact, there was some hurt that needed time and healing – but Johnny kept thinking about her and knew that she was worth it.
As they dated, they had honest and vulnerable conversations.
They gained each other’s trust and captured each other’s hearts.
They knew each other’s weaknesses and together – with the grace of God – they built a strong relational foundation.
Johnny says that they are a place of shalom and rest for each other because they keep bringing it all to Jesus.
As the pastor of youth and young adults at Forestview Church (Burlington, ON), ministry plays a big role in Johnny’s life.
In fact, it is his life.
Johnny is grateful that Melissa shares that passion and calling of vocational ministry and that she is understanding and eager to be a part of Johnny’s ministry.
And he is confident that the youth and other young adults get to know her, they will appreciate her gentle and generous heart.
The gift of a partner in life and ministry is a precious gift indeed.
This is the goodness of God made visible.
Let’s pray for them as the VMC family as they begin this marriage adventure!
