The Sweetness of Church

“Church hurt” is a real thing.

There’s no denying the pain and disappointment that people have experienced within the church. It’s shameful and not the way it should be – but we have to acknowledge that sometimes it’s the truth.

“Church healing” is also a real thing.

When I spoke to Natalya from Lambrick Church in Victoria, BC, she couldn’t keep from saying just how much healing and restoration she has received as being part of the Lambrick church family. She describes her church experience as being “beautiful and transformational.” She can see the honour and respect given to each other. Even though she is young and a woman, there isn’t a system of hierarchy or preference. There are leaders and mentors who want young people to grow in faith and into the people that God created them to be. There’s encouragement and love – with God as the centre of all they are and do.

Being part of this church has been so good that Natalya decided to study theology. Possibly to pursue ministry one day as a vocation.

The sweetness of church.

This is how God imagined the body of Christ to be described.
