A Community That Looks Like Jesus (Auditorium)
Listening, Learning, and Serving Together in Polarizing Times

We are living in a time that encourages “us vs them” thinking, and the church has unfortunately often been tempted to follow suit (or, worse, lead the way). This session will explore practical ways that churches and Christians can resist this impulse by choosing to listen to, learn from, and serve alongside other churches and Christians with whom we might not agree.

Jeff King – Leadership Team Member, Peace Christian Community| Edmonton, AB.

Administration is not your Enemy (Room 235)
How to Build and Maintain a Trellis to Support the Vine Work

We will look at the concept of the Trellis (Administration) and the Vine (Ministry Work), and specifically look at the value of administration (no matter the size of your church) in building and maintaining a healthy church leadership team, to support your ministry work.

Roland Mechler – Executive Pastor, Woodside Bible Fellowship | Elmira ON.

Compassion for the Poor & Marginalized (Community Room)
Responses to the vulnerable street community have typically been compassion by the church and advocacy left to parachurch, government, and social service agencies. The cumulative response however, cannot keep up with the dramatic increase in homelessness. Is it time to rethink the Church’s response to ‘the poor you will always have with you”? This workshop evaluates a deeper dive into the source of the displaced and possible places the Church could engage as participants in the reconnecting mission of God.

Bob Cameron – Executive Director, Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative | Windsor ON.

Contemplation & Prayer (Room 215)
Slowing down and noticing what is most real in a (church) culture of distraction.

Marinus Janson – Lead Pastor, Varsity Bible Church | Calgary AB.

Creation Care (Room 261)
Strategies and resources for helping your church see stewardship of the earth as part of faithful discipleship.

David Knight – Pastor (retired), Lincoln Road Chapel | Waterloo ON.
Tiffany Svensson – Senior Hydrogeologist, Team Lead – BluMetric Environmental Inc. | Kitchener ON.

Generational Succession for Church (Room 101)
Leadership Pipelines, Succession Planning and The Future of Our Churches.

Tamille Richardson – Associate Pastor, Evergreen Heights Christian Fellowship | Simcoe ON.
Keith Shields – Transitional Pastor, Author, Coach, and Consultant | Calgary AB.

Gen Z: How to engage the next generation in church and Christian community (LRC Youth)
It’s no secret that many young people leave the church after graduating high school. But why the exodus? And more importantly, how can we engage them and encourage them to stay committed to their Christian faith? Join a discussion on the reasons young adults disengage from church, and what we can do to help reverse this trend.

Nils Reuter – President, Mount Carmel Bible College | Edmonton AB.

Mental Health as Mission (Room 211)
How the church can respond to the mental health crisis in Canada.

As church leaders, we are not called to be experts in mental health; however, we are called to show compassion and comfort to one another just as God has done for us (2 Cor 1:3-4). Through psycho education and discussion, this presentation will contribute to raising awareness and destigmatizing mental health; and invite us to respond in helpful, Christ-centered ways.

Cairine Domzella, MA, RP, CCC – Director of Care Support, Woodside Bible Fellowship | Elmira ON.

Micro-church for Everyone (LRC Kids)
Articulating smaller ways of reproducible and authentic forms of church.

Tim Pippus – Lead Pastor, Hope for Life Christian Fellowship | Calgary AB.
Joe White – Lead Pastor, Neighborhood Church | Fresno CA.

When to welcome Transitional Leadership Ministry (Room 214)
During a pastoral leadership change, the desire to hire quickly is strong. What are the benefits of taking time, using a Transitional Leadership Minister?

Doug Loveday – Pastor to Pastor and Transitional Pastor, Vision Ministries Canada | Waterloo ON.
