The 3 neighbours behind me.
And the neighbours on either side of me.
My 8.
This is a phrase that the Neighborhood Church in the Jackson hood understands and lives by.
They’ve taken the Great Commandment and the Great Commission to heart as they have tried to figure out how to let the light of Jesus shine in their neighbourhood.
Interestingly, even those who aren’t a part of church have caught on to this way of neighbouring in the name of Jesus.
One day, a man noticed pastor Joe needed help with his car.
So he hopped on over and lent a hand.
As he was leaving, he said, “Well, as you Christians say, your 8 is important.”
Who knows what the Spirit might be doing but what we can see is that a new ethos, the kingdom of God, is spreading little by little.
Like yeast. Or salt.
