Legacy, a ministry of Community Bible Church near Lucan, ON, exists to encourage and equip people who are over the age of 50.
They do lots of fun things – car rallies and lunches and outdoor campfires (complete with singing and skits!)
Mostly, they meet monthly for homemade soup and sandwiches and a speaker.
Broccoli cheddar, beef barley, leek and potato – lots of yummy pots of soup.
(I even heard about sardine soup being served as a bit of a practical joke!)
So in the spirit of life-long learning, they invite speakers for their regular monthly meetings.
A while ago, they invited a counsellor to talk with them about how to be a good listener.
Realizing that listening is a skill we learn, they wanted to intentionally grow in this area – knowing that listening is key for our human relationships and our relationship with God.
True to their name, this group of people over 50 want to pass on the things that God has taught them.
Their desire is for their children and grandchildren to know the love of God and the family of God.
So, they continue to learn and grow in faith and leave a legacy of faith.
May they inspire all of us to finish the race well – for the glory of God!
