I recently talked to Kenzie Watson, Children’s Pastor at Lambrick Park Church in Victoria, BC.
I asked her how God was meeting her these days.
Kenzie referred to a hiking route close to her house.
(Remember, this is Vancouver Island.)
God was meeting her through the beauty of the natural landscape.
God was reminding her of who God is.
Good. Kind. Powerful. Creative.
“This is who I am!” God seemed to be saying.
Those regular walks weren’t just about getting 10,000 steps in – but they were a way in which she could quiet her heart and listen to the still small voice of God.
God was meeting her on the trail.
Kenzie also spoke of her team mates at Lambrick Park Church.
The way in which they were supportive of each other’s humanity throughout different seasons of life.
She was part of a pastoral leadership team that cared for each other and relieved each other when it was too much for one person.
She could see how the other pastoral leaders were mindful of each other in such a healthy way.
She could see the face of God in the faces of her colleagues.
Another way how God was meeting her.
This is the God we love and serve – a God who sees us and meets with us.
Praise be to God!
