To go from meeting in various houses to purchasing your own building is exciting for a church.
For Chin Baptist Church in Ottawa, owning their own building seemed like pie in the sky.
Especially in the current housing market.
However, after 20 years of waiting and saving and looking,
they found an abandoned church for sale.
They opened the side door to have a look and thought “Maybe this is for us!”
Unfortunately, a pipe had burst and there was water everywhere.
Thankfully, that was an easy fix.
Then there was 9 or 10 dumpster loads to be hauled away.
Thousands of volunteer hours were spent to renovate and paint and clean.
There’s even been some neighbours dropping by to say hello and thank them for keeping it as a church.
For the Chin congregation, this space of their own is a miracle!
The answer to 20 years of prayer.
