When one part of the body of God hurts, we all hurt.
So, please – take a few minutes and pray for our friend and brother Indy.
He is the leader of the Chin Christian Fellowship of Canada and a dear friend to many at VMC.
Indy has been away from his family in Winnipeg for three and half years now. He went to Myanmar/Burma for ministry and a family visit and got caught in the covid lockdown.
Fleeing the war zone in Burma, he managed to get to India.
But getting the proper paperwork in place is proving difficult.
He’s applied for a legal exit permit but has been waiting several months for a reply.
Indy also had a terrible bout with covid while he was in Burma and then had a heart attack when he was in India.
He has had surgery there but his surgeon tells him that although he has had two stents implanted, he needs a third one.
For him to be detained or imprisoned would be dangerous because of his physical vulnerability.
He is in uncertain circumstances.
Nevertheless, while he is there, he has been very actively involved in ministering to people from Burma who have been injured during the ongoing war.
People who have lost arms, legs or have lost their vision or their hearing are being brought to the city where he is staying.
He has become a chaplain to them.
Recently he told Gord Martin that he spoke to seven different groups on a Sunday!
Gord was able to meet with his wife, son and daughter while at the Chin national conference in Winnipeg last week.
As you can imagine, it’s hard for them.
Please continue to pray for his safe release and for their encouragement and strength.
