God is Working – Église Évangélique Nouveau Départ

A peek into what’s happening with church planters Gabriel & Melanie Paquin in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts. Read on to hear about how God is working in eastern Quebec.

“What a joy to see spring’s arrived! Winter was a time of blessings for Église Évangélique Nouveau Départ. We started a Sunday School with the two families who have children. Several of their school friends came to attend on several occasions. Our daughter, Hadassah, 15, truly cares about these young people and has invested a lot in preparing the lessons. Melanie also contributes to this ministry as both rotate teaching.

We also began meetings with women from Church who wanted to participate. For now, the goal of these meetings was to get to know each other and become more united, as many of the women are new to the Church. Some of them hosted the meeting in their homes, offering an activity that suited their style, such as a hike in the snow or a sugar shack meal. We had the opportunity to share our testimonies during the discussions and to talk about what the Lord is doing in our lives to edify one another in our Christian walk.

We held an evangelistic concert once again at the chapel of the old hospital and convent in Ste-Anne-des-Monts. There were fewer of us than the other times, only about sixty of whom 30 were non-Christians. Pray that God will continue to work in people’s hearts with the message they heard. The man who started coming to our church since the Christmas concert sang with us this time. He is growing greatly in his faith; it’s encouraging to see!”

Let’s pray together as the VMC family of churches for more and more people across Canada to know the life that Jesus offers!
