In light of political events and speculation about the future, it’s easy to be afraid.
Most books about the end times and the return of Christ focus on appeals to repent and get ready with a fear-driven tone of self-protection and preservation for believers living in the end times.
None of which adequately captures the heart of why Jesus gave his disciples some details about the end times.
As a way to pastorally care for Christian believers in general and to reorient people to what God calls us to, Matt Craig from Don Valley Bible Chapel (Toronto, ON) wrote a book –
“Ready: What Jesus Says About Being His Family at the End of the Age.”
He hopes this resource will help reveal Christ’s heart toward us and instill hope-driven strategies to live ready for his return.
As Matt says, “for the sake of the good news of Jesus Christ and the unity of the church, we need to think carefully about our response and take a closer look at what Jesus says about living as his family at the end of the age.”
