Mental health issues increased significantly during the pandemic.
Anxiety.
Depression.
Eating disorders.
Elmvale Community Church had their ear to the ground and wanted to respond to this need.
Trent Simons, a psychotherapist, follower of Jesus and part of Elmvale Community Church, offered very affordable Cognitive Behaviour Therapy sessions to the community.
Together with the church, they ran 4 sessions of 8 weeks each, with 8 to 12 people in each session.
People eagerly responded and benefited from professional counselling during this difficult time.
Trent saw it as a way to minister the grace of God, using his particular skills and gifts.
This was a timely gift and a visible sign of the love of God to their neighbours.
