Jesper and Kira Jeppesen are church planters in Toronto.
In 2018, they planted Haven Church Toronto.
When I asked Jesper what he was grateful for – his response was this:
God’s grace.
When Jesper and Kira started church planting, they didn’t know the pandemic was coming.
They may not have realized the spiritual hardness of the Toronto soil.
Finding space in Toronto is no easy task.
And yet…
God’s grace.
The church plant survived the pandemic and as Jesper looks around the school gym they’re renting on Sunday mornings, he’s grateful.
Grateful for the group of people that God has called together.
The congregation is mostly young professionals who are hungry for God.
Some have experienced church hurt in the past and they’re done with performance.
They’re seeking authentic community and have a real desire for the gospel.
Jesper feels hopeful for the future of the church.
He’s got amazing people in his congregation – there’s great potential to build a kingdom church.
He knows that God’s grace keeps going so he’s leaning into the joy and strength of the Lord and looking forward to the future.
