Lots of ways to learn – Varsity Bible Church

As a way to encourage further study and foster spiritual conversation, Varsity Bible Church in Calgary, Alberta provides additional resources to accompany their Sunday morning teaching.
It’s called “Sermons +” on their website.

For instance, they are currently doing a series called “Resurrection Stories.”
To accompany the sermons, there were suggestions for movies to watch – The Chosen, Romero, Bible Project videos.
Songs to worship with – Man of Sorrows, Living Hope, A Thousand Hallelujahs.
Books to read – Where the Light Fell by Philip Yancey and The Challenge of Jesus by N.T. Wright.
Plus, discussion questions to consider!

There’s so many things I like about this idea!
It facilitates further study and theological reflection.
It becomes a collection of online resources that represent corporate biblical learning and is a place people can refer back to or suggest to friends.
And it forms common ground with other congregants where invigorating spiritual conversation can take place.

Learning the ways of Jesus takes time.
Hearing God’s word on Sunday mornings, plus having all these other resources especially curated for a particular congregation, not only shows pastoral care but encouragement to dig deep and grow spiritually.

Let’s grow in the ways of Jesus together!
