Thirteen Years Later

Years ago, a young couple in China had a second child when the one-child policy was in effect.

They weren’t sure what to do.

They were afraid that the father would lose his job as a school teacher.

They would be sure to suffer somehow.

They came to Ming-Peng (pastor at West Toronto Chinese Bible Church and Director of the Chinese Church Association) and asked what they should do.

Ming-Peng said – keep the child.

Even if you lose your job, keep the child.

They arranged for the child to grow up at his uncle’s house.

The father kept his job and the boy was able to live with family.

Imagine Ming-Peng’s joy this past summer as he met this boy as a 13 year old man.

He was alive – both physically and spiritually!

Praise God for wise counsel, a conviction towards the sanctity of human life, supportive family, and God’s grace.
