Fresh Wind – Guelph Bible Chapel

A leadership consultation with Gord Martin a few years ago felt like fresh wind for Guelph Bible Chapel.
The future seemed a bit fragile and it felt like the church was maybe coasting spiritually.

But then God seemed to blow something afresh their way.
100 Days of Prayer was embraced by the congregation – small groups of people met regularly for prayer for over 3 months.
Through this prayer time and other conversation, three areas emerged as important:

  1. More outreach
  2. More sense of community
  3. More prayer

A few years later, Jacob Ginter (one of the elders at GBC) now notes a shift in church culture.
Small groups have been established.
There is increased prayer happening.
More group prayer in small groups and at events.
A sense of mission has instigated outreach events for their community – hosting an annual Community Carol Sing, and partnering with the Neighbourhood Community Group in pumpkin carving, tree planting, cleanups, hosting the Guelph Tool Library Repair Cafe, kids drop in and more.

Thank you, God, that You are a God who continually refreshes and reminds and reorients us back to Yourself!
