A couple from the Port Kells Church in Surrey, B.C. have family who work at a Christian retreat centre in Romania – just 100 km from the Ukraine border.
These past few weeks, the centre has been busy taking in refugees and helping them with relocation.
As a result, the Port Kells church members decided to start an Ukraine relief fund with a goal of $2500 by Easter.
Amazingly, they collected over $3500 and have directed the monies to the Christian retreat centre, to be used for practical support for the Ukrainian refugees.
“Love, Grow, Serve” is Port Kells motto and it certainly reflects the heart of the kingdom of God.
Sharing resources with their global neighbours in the Ukraine is one way they live the Good News of Jesus.
