A church leader was telling me about a recent situation that was ripe for conflict.
The perfect chance for friction to lead to division.
For people to be dogmatic, disagreeable and easily offended.
To be quick to speak and slow to listen.
But then …
The situation did not develop as feared.
Instead, there was a sense of generosity of spirit.
Both sides chose respect and love.
There was generative and respectful conversation.
Somehow the Spirit infused the situation with a peace that passeth understanding.
Somehow the people of God leaned in to unity.
Amazing grace.
To God be the glory.
