Looking back over the last couple of years, one pastor wondered if the pandemic offered a gift to small churches.
He had been a little worried about some of the key people who volunteered significant hours and energy each week – they seemed to be wearing a bit thin.
So when restrictions hit and church went online, it felt like a forced sabbatical.
Key people were able to stop for a bit, breathe, catch up.
Although he wouldn’t have asked for this,
the rest may have been an unexpected gift.

Not only that, but as things start up again, there’s a deeper appreciation for the simple things.
Like coffee before church.
Potlucks.
Meeting in each other’s homes.

God shows up – sometimes in unexpected ways.
Giving thanks in all things, we continue on.
