Last Saturday, Montague Christian Church on Prince Edward Island hosted a take out baked potato bar to raise funds for the Ukraine.
Not only did it bring the church community together, working side by side, but it invited the larger community to come together over a shared concern.
Potatoes were generously donated by a potato farm (and if you’ve been following the news, the PE potato farmers have had a rough go this winter!) and local grocery stores kicked in some supplies too.
A real community effort.
Money raised pays the apartment rent for two refugee Ukrainian moms and their kids as they seek safety in Poland.
All for the glory of God!
Because God’s concern is this – love God and love your neighbour.
MCC’s prayer is that the community will catch a glimpse of God’s heart through events like this.
