Knowing that the weeks ahead were going to be challenging, Bertus rode his bike and prayed.
Moving to a new country, finding work, getting established again was alot.
He prayed specifically that God would give him strength.
Isaiah 40:31 became his heart’s cry:
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
They will run and not grow weary,
They will walk and not be faint.
His legs pushing him on, he rode around a bend in the trail.
There – in clear view – were a couple of eagles, right in front of him.
He smiled, thanking God for hearing his prayer.
Later that day as he joined Montague Christian Church’s zoom prayer time, his new friends praised the Lord alongside him for this visible gift of grace.
How good it is that our God is a listening God!
How good it is to be part of the family of God!
