Disappointment & Hope – Aurora North End Parish Church

In recent years, Kevin Jolly and the Aurora North End Parish Church congregation have been faithfully praying about how to steward their building space well.
They’ve got space – a church hall – that they’d like to be occupied and used for the good of the community.
It’s got potential.
And practically speaking – it may just be God’s way of providing financially for their congregation.
It would be a win-win situation.

It seemed like a day care might be the perfect thing.
So sometime last year they started the long trek through mountains of paperwork and consultations and legal agreements.

Needless to say, it was discouraging this spring when they found out that the daycare was a “no.”

So what now?
There’s disappointment, of course.
It seemed like this could be a great partnership.
That God was in it.
That it would have made some much-needed renovations possible.

But they’re accepting what is.
Trusting that God has something else.
Hopeful that God will bring the right partners at the right time.
They’ve put out a request for proposals.
They’re currently wading through those proposals – eager to see what God might do and trusting the process.

It’s about learning how to be faithful and hopeful while in the middle of the story.
Believing that God will bring new life and do what God desires at the right time.
