Living Stones Fellowship is the English Ministry of Toronto Ren Ai Chinese Fellowship which meets at Brebeuf College School (211 Steeles Avenue East, North York) on Saturdays at 5pm.  English Youth and Chinese Adult Fellowship follow at 7pm.

 

Role Summary

The Youth and English Ministry Intern will play a vital role in fostering the spiritual growth of youth in grades 6-12, young adults, new immigrants, and attendees of the English ministry. They will collaborate closely with the leadership teams of Living Stones Fellowship and the youth ministry. The intern will be accountable to both the English Ministry Facilitator and the Deacon Board Chair of Ren Ai Church. This accountability will support ongoing initiatives within Living Stones English Fellowship, ensuring that all planning, teaching, and ministry activities align with the church’s vision and values. Additionally, the intern will engage in various ministry opportunities and participate in a mentorship program aimed at their personal and professional development.

 

Responsibilities

Small English Ministry:

  • Prayerfully design and implement outreach initiatives.
  • Prayerfully seek God for messages to be shared with the congregation twice a month.
  • Assist in organizing a summer church retreat.
  • Join (sometimes lead) the weekly Bible Study.
  • Join the weekly prayer meeting.

 

Youth Ministry:

  • Commit to praying for the ministry and the youth independently and in weekly prayer meetings.
  • Work with the Facilitator to prayerfully create and implement youth curriculum, lead Bible Studies, teach, mentor youth, help lead weekly sports and build relationships with the youth and their families.
  • Help lead special events throughout the summer.
  • If musical, can help mentor the worship team.

 

Other Ministries:

  • Support church programs as assigned, under guidance of elders and leadership.
  • Interact with parents and the congregation of the Mandarin speaking church that seeks to serve the recent Chinese immigrant population and beyond

 

Mentorship:

  • Meet regularly with the English Ministry Facilitator as well as the Chairman of the Deacon Board.
  • Participate in a structured review process as scheduled.

 

Hours and Compensation

  • May to December 2025: minimum 15 hours a week, starting at $20-25 per hour for a total of 500 hours.
  • Toronto Ren Ai Chinese Christian Church meets on Saturday evenings at Brebeuf College School, North York.  A commitment to Saturdays from 4:30pm to 10:00pm would be expected as well as most Friday evenings for small groups. Some of the other weekly commitments could happen online. The English Living Stones Fellowship meets from 5-6pm and the youth from 7 to 8:30 with sports following.

 

Qualifications

  • A person of prayer.  This is the DNA we hope to see in each church/youth participant.
  • A passionate follower of Jesus Christ who loves God, handles God’s word correctly, and eagerly desires to see the next generation walking in step with the Holy Spirit.
  • A teachable and flexible person who is interested in serving in a cross-cultural setting.  Any knowledge of Mandarin would be an asset, but not required.
  • A sincere, loving, self-disciplined person who is quick to serve, and who seeks to encourage others in their walk with Christ by words and example.
  • References may be required from a pastor and previous ministry setting
