Forestview Church exists to be a community where people meet Jesus and become more like Him. We are a non-denominational congregation of 400+ people in Oakville, Ontario. With Brethren roots, we identify as an independent, missional, broadly evangelical church, collaborating with like-minded congregations across Canada. As a member of Vision Ministries Canada, we are committed to incarnational missional ministry throughout the Halton region.
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our staff team as the Interim Director of Communications. In this role, you will provide vital support to our various ministries through effective internal and external communication. Your efforts will help people connect and engage with the ministries at Forestview, aiming to help them grow as disciples of Jesus and to experience God’s love.
Hours: 20 hours/week

Essential Skills & Strengths
-Passionate for Jesus and for seeing people become a part of the church community and get involved.
-Strong organizational and proactive skills.
-Able to meet deadlines.
-Prompt in responding to emails and calls.
-Ensures quality, excellence and consistency in communication.
-Communicates with attention to Forestview ethos – both visually and in writing style.
Responsibilities
-Manage internal and external communication channels, including the Forestview website, mailing lists, social media accounts, and email newsletters.
-Assist key ministry leaders in developing and implementing communication plans to effectively engage people of the church community.
-Maintain ownership of the church calendar and facility bookings.
-Work with the pastoral team to welcome and integrate church newcomers.
-Oversee interactions and support for facility rental inquiries and needs.
-Make sure that various ministries have necessary materials, such as office supplies.
Education & Experience
-Experience in writing corporate communications, advertising and marketing materials.
-Familiarity with communication software and resources such as Church Center software, Mail Chimp, etc.
